Bait Byout is a Palestinian, youth-led, independent NGO. It was registered as a charitable society with the Ministry of Interior under RA-22445-HR in 2016. It is the Arab world’s first live-action role-playing (LARP) organisation. Initially, a group of volunteers in Palestine came together to create a LARP community; over time, this community has grown into a vibrant network of LARPers. The name “Bait Byout” comes from a popular role-playing game where children assume adult roles and explore alternative worlds.

Bait Byout aims to provide a safe, supportive space for high-quality LARP and board games. It encourages collaborative learning through role-playing and gaming, helping young people build essential skills, take on leadership roles, and engage with cultural issues. By using LARP and board games, Bait Byout actively involves youth in important social and political discussions. Through immersive storytelling and engaging gameplay, participants explore topics such as GBV, SRHR, the Gaza occupation, environmental issues, and emotional health. These activities foster safe environments for dialogue, empathy, critical thinking, and personal reflection, enabling participants to better understand complex challenges and empowering them to become changemakers in their communities.
